Potential "Backs" player,
Thank you for considering "Backs" Baseball as your summer/fall program for the 2017 season. "Backs" Baseball is entering its sixteenth year as a college-prep traveling baseball program. It is run under the Black Sox Baseball affiliation. Black Sox Baseball will be entering its 24th season in 2017. Since its inception in 2002, "Backs" Baseball has had over 265 collegiate signees, 28 MLB Amateur Draft picks, fifteen All-Americans, over 35 College All-Conference honorees, and 129 All-State players. Over the past twelve seasons, 100% of our players who have finished their senior seasons with us have received opportunities to continue their baseball careers at the collegiate level.
Being a college-prep travel program, "Backs" Baseball recruits from roughly a 500-mile radius of Evansville, IN. Our recruiting is done in multiple ways. I personally try to see as many Tri-State games as time allows. Our coaching staff sees approximately 30-40 high school games each spring. I also rely on pro scout, college coach, and high school coach recommendations. Our organization has established good communication with the regional colleges and universities regarding their potential recruits. We utilize the college coach’s recommendations strongly in our selection process and anytime we are unable to see a player first hand. We also pay close attention to the yearly All-Conference, All-Region, All-District and All-State teams. Since our inception, our program has been comprised of players from over 62 different high schools from throughout the Midwest. Along with competing against some of the best teams in the nation, since 2002, the "Backs" have faced countless nationally ranked players by PG Crosschecker.com, over 200 MLB Draft picks including 19 first-rounders, 58 High School All-Americans, and fifteen U.S.A. National Team players.
A season with the "Backs" will help you realize where you stack up against other college-bound student athletes. We will play a very competitive 35-45 game schedule against some of the best teams and players the nation has to offer. We will be committed to target marketing our players to the schools throughout our region from each division of collegiate baseball. Over the past eight seasons, the "Backs" have competed against teams from Colorado, Texas, West Virginia, Alabama, Tennessee, New York, Delaware, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Virginia, Maryland, Kentucky, Georgia, Missouri, Florida, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, and Canada. I appreciate your time and look forward to discussing the opportunities we may have for you in 2015.
